All of our group activities are eligible for payment under NDIS funding. They are run by Teachers, Allied health assistants or Speech pathologists, and are evidence based. We only allow 4 children per group so everyone can get to know each other well.

Parent led language development group
January Intensives
Maclain will be running Intensive sessions in January 2026.
These will run for three weeks in a row and be group sessions targeted at different age groups.
These are a great way to work on skills in a fun format for kids.
Little learners - 3-5 year olds,
Thursday the 8th, 15th and 22nd January
Learning Boost - 5-8 year olds
Fridays 9th, 16th and 23rd of January.

Parent led language development group
For late or minimally talking children under 5
When: Wednesday 9:15 am
Duration: 1 hour
Spots: Limited to 4 kids per group
Price: Maximum $160 per session
Facilitated by a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), this group is designed for parents and children to participate in together. It is tailored for younger children who have limited speech. The group employs various communication methods, including parent training to support language development, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and key word sign.
Each session offers structured conversation about a language development strategy, and accompanying handout, as well as time to practice the strategy in class with support and ask questions as needed.

Parent Led Speech sound support
Feel confident supporting your child with speech sound development
When: Tuesdays 3:30pm
Duration: 1 hour
Ages: 4–8 years
Spots Available: 4 families per group
Cost: Max $160 per session depending on numbers
Does your child need support to develop clearer speech? Our Parent-Led Speech Development Program is designed to empower families to play an active role in their child’s progress. This small group program provides a unique blend of professional guidance and structured practice.
What to Expect:
Parent Support: Sessions begin with a short parent information session, which builds your knowledge weekly about how speech development works, how to support it and why the strategies work.
Targeted Practice: Each family works 1:1 with a professional for a short time giving individualised support, focusing on specific speech targets.

Story craft
Join any time for language and vocabulary development
When: Thursdays 10:30-11:30
Duration: one hour
Ages: 3:6-8 years
Spots Available: up to 5 children per group
Cost: $50 per session

Story Craft is a small group program designed to support children’s language development in a fun and engaging way.
Each session includes:
Shared story reading using evidence-based techniques (dialogic reading and Blanks questions) to build understanding and expression
A hands-on craft activity linked to the story, encouraging social interaction and conversation skills
Parent involvement, so you can learn simple strategies to support your child’s language at home
Affordable and flexible – attend casually for $50 per session or grab a 5-session pass for flexible attendance.
NDIS funding welcome under Capacity Building Supports.
Who is it for?
Children aged 4–7 years who need a little extra support with language, whether or not they have a formal diagnosis or NDIS plan.

Morpheme mastery
build vocabulary and spelling skills

Duration: 60 minutes
Ages: 8+ years
Spots Available: 4 children per group
Cost: $160 max per session, depending on numbers
Is your child struggling to understand new words, use richer vocabulary, or work out what unfamiliar words mean?
Morpheme mastery is a small group program designed to make learning words fun and practical. Run by the speech pathologist, we will build week by week on the spellings they have learnt and grow their understanding and spelling skills.
Each session includes:
Exploring word meanings and word parts (prefixes, suffixes, and root words)
Interactive word games and challenges to build understanding and confidence
Opportunities for conversation and teamwork, supporting social interaction and expressive language
NDIS funding welcome under Capacity Building Supports.
Who is it for?
Children aged 8+ years who need extra support to grow their vocabulary, improve comprehension, and strengthen their expressive language skills.
